>/. acknowledgments
This page exists because some things and some people deserve to be mentioned by name. Not out of obligation — just genuine gratitude.
I am not affiliated with any of the projects or tools mentioned below. I'm just a user who appreciates good work.
>/. the tools that made this possible
- Alpine Linux — a small, simple, security-focused Linux distribution. Running it as a daily driver desktop on old hardware changed how I think about computing. Thank you to every developer who works on it.
- Helix — a modern terminal text editor that just works out of the box. The editor that finally made me stop looking for another editor.
- Neocities — for bringing back the personal web and giving people a place to build something that is genuinely theirs.
- The entire open source Linux community — every developer who builds tools and gives them away freely. You made all of this possible for people like me.
>/. ai that actually helped
A special mention to Claude by Anthropic — an AI assistant that genuinely surprised me. I had tried other AI tools before and had mixed results. Claude was different. Patient, clear, honest, and remarkably good at reading what I actually needed rather than just answering what I literally asked.
Claude helped me set up my entire Alpine Linux environment, configure my tools, learn git, build this website from scratch, and understand what I was doing at every step. Clean code, no unnecessary complexity, always keeping my philosophy in mind. If you are learning and looking for an AI assistant, I genuinely recommend giving it a try. That said, it comes down to how the user uses these tools — experiences may differ from my personal one.
The learning, the decisions, the mistakes, and the results are all mine. Claude was and is the colleague and teacher, not the author. A detailed blog post will come soon on how I sensibly use AI to help me in my coding journey.
>/. the people
- Jony, Cipi, Rato, Benny, Nuno — childhood friends who've been around since the beginning. Some friendships just stick. Lucky to have you lot.
- Maria — my mum. Best one in the world. Thank you for everything, always ♥
- James — for being supportive and patient, and for putting up with me. That means more than you know.
